The spectacular wilderness of the Tug Hill Plateau is a nature lovers paradise, with stunning views and endless open trails. The plateau, reservoir, rivers and waterfalls are literally an outdoor enthusiasts playground, and with so many different trails, boredom simply isn’t an option.

Families love Tug Hill Resort too
It goes without saying that there’s also plenty to do for families who want to enjoy some quality time together – in both summer and winter. Tug Hill Resort is the perfect destination for a family holiday because it has so much to offer everyone. The Salmon River is a great place to take a hike, skip some stones and enjoy the panoramic views, while back at the resort, play one of our many garden games, or tell stories and make smores by the fire-pit. Swimming in the reservoir, of course, is also a local favourite and a family-friendly activity.
Activities & attractions
Snowmobile rentals and tours are available Dec. 16th through April 1st. Kayak rentals are available to our guests in the summer. Pontoon tours on the Salmon River Reservoir are available in the summer. Fishing is nearby on the Salmon river. Visit the Salmon River Waterfall 10 minutes away . ATV/UTV rentals and tours are available during the spring/summer. Cross country skiing at the Osceola x-country ski center. Siberian Husky presentation and rides are available in the winter.

Fishing
Fish the nearby Salmon river known for its fall Salmon run. Enjoy charter boat fishing on Lake Ontario. Walleye, bass, etc. You name it you’ll have a chance to catch it here!
Summer
Road biking
Road biking routes often stretch through some of the most picturesque vistas. Pedal past deep Adirondack lakes, mountain peaks and the pristine wilderness in the Tug Hill region.
SUMMER
Kayaking
If water is your passion you’re in the right place. Kayak and adventure the nearby Redfield Reservoir, Salmon River, or the sandy beaches of Lake Ontario. Kayak rentals available.
Winter
Snowmobiling
Winding for miles around snow-covered forests, along frozen rivers and through picturesque communities, Tug Hill is “the place” to snowmobile in New York. Rentals and tours available Dec 16th through April 1st.
SPRING/SUMMER
ATV riding
With wet muddy springs, along with warm, breezy summers, and crisp, fresh autumns and the hundreds of miles of trails, Tug Hill is a great place to ride! ATV and Side by Side rentals available. Trails are open May 1st through Sept 30th.
Summer
Pontoon Tours
Join us for a relaxing Pontoon ride on the beautiful Salmon River Reservoir. They say all you need is love and a sunset! Available mid June through first week of September.
Winter
Dog Sledding
Experience first hand driving your own team of dogs in full view from hotel parking area. Create spectacular photos, videos, and Facebook posts of shared family experiences. Snowshoeing
They say if you can walk you can snow shoe. Walk across the snow and into the big white yonder. If you are feeling fit why not try one of the thousands of trails. Don’t forget to pack your snow shoes of course!

X-country skiing
To the delight of cross-country skiers, Mother Nature kindly parks her snowmaking machine directly over Tug Hill, creating a winter playground that’s second to none. Osceola x-country ski center is just a short drive from the lodge.
